I was surfing the web and came across this information. I figured I'd post it
and maybe to someone it could be useful.

Also here's some information I found on bowtie.com web site that could be helpful to someone.

Here's some information from mailburacing.com on different types of rear swaps for G-bodies, written by Todd Geister.

Very cool.

malibu racing is missing a bit of info on the A body 12 bolt and the A body 8.2" 10 bolt which comes in two different widths. Like the 12 bolt the 64 to 67 version is 2.5" wider than the G body rear and you need conversion uppers along with a joint on the rear end side of the lower control arm. I have the UMI conversion uppers and tubular lower with a Roto Joint for my 67 8.2" rear. The 68 to 72 version is 4.5" wider than the G body rear and you'll need the conversion uppers but you can use the stock lowers.

Here is a video I did about installing an 8.8 in my 83 Malibu Wagon.

#truth.

However, aside from spring perches there is no cutting and welding with this swap. and If you go with a kit to replace the stock shocks with coilovers there is no welding required.

With enough money, anything is possible. . . .
