MALIBU HVAC Control Does Not Come On

On my 80 Malibu V6 the heater/ A-C control does not come on. I’ve checked the 25 amp fuse, cleaned the connections in the engine compartment, and at a loss as to why I’m getting nothing. No fan motor or vacuum sounds when I switch to vent.

Put switch on high and tap the blower motor. If it comes on, a bad motor

Put a test light on the blower motor wire, if it doesn't light bad switch or an interruption to power on that wire. If it does light up bad motor.

What about the ground??

All you are checking is to see if you have power at the connector end. Probe on the wire, black clip to ground. If you don't have one, make one from an old side marker.
