hm ok sweet Im looking into ucf, Im surprized you dont go there? I am wanting to duo major in mechanical and aerospace.

The thing is, I am 34 and own a house which makes me alot less mobile to do this sort of thing. I may end up there when I am done if I can't get in to the program at USF as it is a limited access program. I would like to stay in the home I have while I do school and Tampa is much closer than UCF (Orlando?). As it is, I try to employ efficiencies of time and cost in my life which allow me to work and live very close to home. This way, I waste very little time on commuting ( I work 2 miles from home), and very little money on fuel. I go to the Tarpon Springs campus of SPC and schedule classes only 2 days a week. This maximizes the amount of personal time I have as well as minimizing the amount of money spent on necessary commuting. It sounds a bit nerdy to put it this way, but it is the way I think about it. I used to work 20 miles from home and it added an extra hour to my day. So, a 8 hour day spent on work was really 9 hours-a net loss of one hour of time to do other things. I have also worked out ways to save almost $200 a month in expenses while not changing my lifestyle by doing things more efficiently. I am also implementing more changes to save an additional $100 a month, thus cutting my expenses and need to spend time earning money and increasing the amount of time I have to spend on school and life in general.

One efficiency I am trying to fix before I transfer is selling my first car from when I was 15 for around $4-5k this spring. I will then use the money from that to pay the down payment on a new hatchback to use for the commute to and from school ( about 60-70 miles a day), and for delivering pizza ( about 100 miles a day). The sale of the project means it is not hanging over me, and the new car pays for itself in time efficiency, and fuel cost reduction. It is very important to analyze your life when you do not make much money and eliminate needless expenses in order to maximize your lifestyle. Right now, I have too much chaos and am working hard to fix it before I go to USF as I will not be able to do much else when I do.

I may try to design one in a year or two when I get that far in my engineering classes. I would also do inboard brakes to remove unsprung weight.

only problem with inboard brakes is if you happen to break a half-shaft, you lose that wheels braking ability.......

True, but if you break an axle on a C clip rear end, you can lose not only the braking, but the wheel too, so I think the inboard brakes are safer than a C clip axle. Plus, I have no plans to have enough power to break an axle. My wildest dreams for my car only involve maybe 650hp, so it should be OK as long as it is not on slicks. Besides, I have no way of affording my wildest dreams so it should never be an issue.

I wonder how a 240 or Supra rear end would hold up in a G-body.

Both are way too wide....I measured. I checked a MK III Supra and a S13 240SX. The 240sx rear can be made to hold up pretty well, and if the MkIII Supra has anywhere near the strength the MkIV's do, it would be no problem.

Well, I was measuring the flange to flange width. Maybe I remembered it wrong since I may have discounted it due to the strut system that would be difficult to package.

I know the feeling
