Good luck, Larry. It's too bad that you have to encounter weird people out there once in awhile...like Mike^^ for example..😛. I wonder if the woman is having second thoughts of selling. At any rate, I hope you find something decent that has a good body. It doesn't matter what brand it is. Just find the best example within reason.

Thanks I'm not really sure what's going on with her, I went to look at another today and that thing was in bad shape! I'm still trying for the cutty cruiser hopefully she will return my calls/text......

How about the other Malibu that you mentioned earlier? I suppose it's probably worth a look-see. You can always say "no".

Still, the Cutlass would be the best bang for the buck. Was this car actually advertised for sale? You can always try calling again. Be a pest if you have to.

Jack, I called the other guy yesterday as well because I was in his area to look at the wagon and he never returned my call as well......Yes the cutlass wagon was actually advertised and I have been calling and calling and texting and I even went so far as to go back to the house and sit out front for an hour or so (STALKER!!!!!) and nothing and I cannot actually walk up to the door because there is a fence around the house and 3 dogs strolling the perimeter of the house! I blew the horn to see if anyone would come out and NOTHING. I am going to keep trying though I am not giving up that easy lol.

Larry,
I can fully understand your frustration. You hope you can move forward, but people just don't want to cooperate. I can't understand why people go thru the bother of advertising an item and they make themselves unavailable...:wtf: It just doesn't make sense. 😕 I guess there's a limit to how much you can stalk someone.
What part of the country are you located...just in case I find something interesting.

Good luck! I'm sure something will materialize.

I am located in SoCal Jack, I just facetimed the guy with the other 79 Malibu and that one looks very promising! The 79 is a bare bones wagon but the body is straight the interior is decent the car hasn't ran in four years but it is COMPLETE, so I think I maybe able to get running on an external gas can. He tried to remove the carb but couldn't get it off and he just gave up he was going to get it rebuilt he was not the "mechanically inclined" type of guy. So I may have just found a candidate to hual my car parts around!

Larry,
That sounds like it may be a promising candidate. What's nice, being from SoCal, it won't have the rust issues like many other G-body cars in different regions of the country.
If you can score that for the right price, also being a non-runner. You'll have to use your best gift of gab/ negotiating skills. Obviously, you don't know what shape the engine and trans are in, etc. I was thinking...the lady with the Cutlass Cruiser may be out of town for the holidays...it just dawned on me.
Whichever car you look at, just make sure it's not plagued with rust, or very little. Check the rear frame rails first, then look under the doors, 1/4 window sills, rear hatch opening channels...just for starters....and of course, check the floor pans.

OK OK OK........Well the original Wagon I was looking at....Hold your breath SHE ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK AND I BOUGHT IT!!!!!

1983 Cutlass Cruiser 3.8, PW/PL/TILT/Power vent windows/CC/RALLY GAUGE PACKAGE passenger remote mirror control power seat, and Turbo 350 the guy had no idea what he was talking about when he said it had a powerglide in it, the adjustment cable for the trans was not adjusted correctly, I pulled around the corner after buying and adjusted and drove it home perfectly! Here are some pics I took as soon as got it home before I pulled it into the garage.

First and foremost clean it up put the original stock wheels back on it for now until I can come up with some rollers. Give it some TLC that it desperately needs and fix a leaking steering box, and go through the electrical for the windows (already know the motors need replacing) but I am happy with the purchase and the price WAS DEFINITELY RIGHT!!!!
