what is this hole??? will it come with a plug in it or at least with threads so it can be plugged??? truth be told, its a stock photo, and its a vortec style performer rpm... the one offered is the polished version, new for $172.50 SHIPPED... less than half of what it should cost... makes me nervous, but the company has a 99.7% rating and the only negative feedback i could find stated "product arrived a day late".... hell, i will wait an extra day for a 60+% discount...

You can plug it with a standard pipe plug. It should be around 3/4 NPT. I don't remember the exact size off hand, but the threads will be NPT. The hole probably goes to the water jacket, so you can install a temp sensor. Some of the old SBC's had the water temp sensor installed in the intake. Some people say the reading is more accurate in the intake than the cylinder head, and still install them there.

I does appear to have threads and I would say 1/2" NPT pipe plug would be the size.

cool, thanks guys... i will order it first thing tomorrow and hopefully it comes as described...

Does it require egr in the state your in? Im thinking the air gap intake I have needs to go because there is no place for the egr on it and the emmisions cops will fine me hard core without it..

I know some people on here have mounted a non functional EGR on aftermarket intakes to give the impression that you have one, I don't personally know if this actually passes visual testing.

NOPE, NO EGR... i live in Connecticut and before a certain year there is no emmisions testing... no ecm, no cat, true duals to flowmasters... dont think i could live somewhere they require emmisions testing on old cars... i wouldnt want to have to deal with all that...

we don't get emissions tested but they require the equipment to be intact from what I gather, each piece missing is a $380 fine

Again, that isn't an EGR provision. That is a coolant crossover for heating the manifold during cold weather starts. The intake will come with two pipe plugs to fill the holes if you don't care to use them.

What I don't understand is why the buyer has not asked the seller if he is confused about something on the product he is buying....
