Is Hyundai Finally Making Something You Would Actually WANT?

A Hyundai is a good chick car they really don't have do anything to them to make them last to that 100 thousand mile mark just change the oil. If can find the one of the few chicks that are into cars good for you.

I had a 1985 Excell with over 250,000 miles on it and the only thing I did was a timing belt and distributor used from a junk yard. The car was slow as a b*st*rd on the highway but never had any problems with it.

I will probably never buy a new car unless I was rich and I will stick to the old cars for now. No computer crap or modern technology to break down.

From 2004-2007 I sold new Hyundai's, trust me I understand you'r concern for their track record but If you look into the past few years they have raised the bar with their crash ratings. I believe it was 02 when Hyundai baught KIA Motors and merged their R&D departments. I haven't looked into their new sports coupe but I'm assuming they are droping production of the Tibron in exchange for the RWD model. I wouldn't be supprised if they come out on top within 10 years. But IMO I'd never buy a pre 02 Hyundai & a pre 04 KIA. Giving the situation with our economy I will only be buying American if I were to buy a new car.

I have seen way too many problems with American cars such as Hummer, Cadillac, Chrysler, I seen a brand new Chrysler go up in flames the other day, have seen many hummers FAIL and values depreciate and I have seen many Cadillac cars with electronic or mechanical problems because of modern technology that is garbage. Parts or repair are no cheaper that $500 in some cases and the cars are a b*tch to work on. Just to change an oil pan on my friends Cadillac, you need to take the engine out and it was going to cost him $1,000 all because the pan cracked.

People with American cars are getting screwed because the workers are all Unionized. They do not care about quality and only care about making big bucks for sh*t work.

Foreign automakers take pride to support their country and the cars they make. I would buy a Hyundai over any new American car on the market today.

AHEM!!!!!!

Lets forgo the ignorant uninformed response and correct it properly.

Quality amongst all makers is not so great a difference in the first place. Few percentage in numbers at best.

Our US built cars will make the headlines in a much larger percentage due to the fact corporate headquarters are here. Foreign car makers are not and news is only news when its fresh, so by the time something can be confirmed and gone though corporate headquarters, which it must do, too many days or weeks has passed so the news is not new. Alot of foreign get buried in bureaucratic bullshit.

As far as fixing a problem with a car, US cars are much cheaper and easier to do. Foreign cars builders have not nor are they planning to have rebuilt parts available. Without those your stuck having to buy new parts. A starter for examples can be had for a little as $90 rebuilt, foreign new, well over $300. Our cars and there's share alot of the same design hampers such as front wheel drive, traverse motors and so on, not easy to work on theirs or ours.

People are getting screwed price wise due to the UAW and more overlooked, high amounts of middle level, play golf, pick at your *ss managers that average 1 to 4-6 employees which has to be tacked onto cars. This I will not disagree with, but will add a thought.
What is it YOU'S DO????
What company do YOU'S work for????
Because I think YOU'S get paid to much and YOUR PRODUCTQUALITY SUCKS and or services are TOO HIGH and I WANT to buy foreign services because the quality is better, there workers work harder than US ones etc.

See how it is with the shoe on the other foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to correct this train of thought you have given us.

ALABAMA DUDE
NORTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE, KENTUCKY and a few more are where foreign cars are built, parts to them are made and so on. NOT IN JAPAN ETC. Foreign car makers to compete with US builders have to build here because the tariffs imposed for unfair trading are so high, its cheaper to build it here. They may import some parts, but the trade tariffs then either don't apply or are much cheaper.

So their built by non union, happy to have decent paying job US workers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So US non union, happy to have decent paying jobs. rednecks etc are taking pride building American made cars for foreign companies because even what they build at home cannot always be brought into the US because of emissions etc etc etc.

I only buy foreign cars new. They use non union labor and I do whatever I can to avoid supporting unions. If GM did the right thing and took all of it's manufacturing to right to work states, then fired all of it's union workers and stopped paying legacy costs to retirees, I would probably consider buying their cars. For now though, I will continue to drive a quality vehicle every day. A Nissan I bought new in 1998 and have since used for 315,000 miles of pizza delivery.

I concur 98%.

Only thing I want to know is, what are work states????

Right To Work States are states where you can't be required to join a union to get a job. Florida, for example, is a Right To Work State. Here, unions have little power and workers must be productive to keep their jobs. If they aren't, out the door they go.

i drive an 06 Hyundai Elantra. i have 70,000 km's on it. i beat the sh*t out of that car daily. i hit redline on every light and i have yet to have a problem with it. and its also not that slow. i took it against my friends 89 Camaro with a 305 TBI and i smoked him by one and a half car length.

here are some pics:

You can also get the new powerful, economical 375 hp in house developed "Tau" V8. Everyone is raving about this car. Foreign competition and stupidity is why GM is nearly dead.

So I take it that your answer is the typical liberal one that is just a bunch of words yet in reality, means nothing.

Move on.
