obviously. I use solid plate the same thickness and holesaw the correct size hole. I then use a die grinder and notch the side of the hole. Not my first rodeo

Supposed to have a fence builder here this morning at 11am. I waited till 11:45 then a wicked rain storm hit. Texted him and told him I was tired of waiting. I absolutely cannot stand to wait on someone that's late. Probably a sign of what would come so I think I'll call someone else. I'm having a wood privacy fence put up off the side of my garage all the way to my property line. It will basically be a fenced area that I can store my projects in. Only people that would see in is from airplanes. Would like to do the entire back yard but this will clean up my salvage 
The 85s bent chassis also had a broken axle. So when you were moving it, the axle would work its way out. I removed the carrier and welded the axle back together. Yeah, I know it won't hold but it will be fine for rolling around. The spider gears were welded up so I used a carrier from who knows what G body without a ring gear and bolted it all back together. That carrier has been in a box for about 15 years. Now I don't have to keep knocking the axle back into the housing while it's being moved. Wasted 2 hours but now getting ready to mate the 86 parts car body to the bent 85 frame
Yesterday I called my buddy in Texas with the 67 Firebird. He sold it. I waited too long I guess. I was going to try to trade him the 85 SS for it. So I have hatched a plan. I think I'll build the 85 SS for my wife on the down low. It will be back white, stock height, N90s, and very original appearing. Going to use the stock 350 from the 86. I'll definitely do the correct Monte Carlo SS decals but may or may not do the stripes. She never keeps up with what I'm doing so it will be a complete surprise. We bought an 87 Luxery Sport in around 1995 and she loved that car.
So my plan now has changed. I'm going to put this 87 on hold to build the 85 for my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary in August. I also plan on getting the Salon finished up. So the Salon and 85 SS will be on our G Body cruise in September. So this thread will go dormant for awhile
Those round pieces cut out of the metal are perfect to use as washers for the control arm bolt holes. I welded them in place to add a little strength to the 1/2" bolt holes
