Gonna get rear steelies and snow tires and drive it in the snow and salt for the first time in it's life - 1986 SS 90k. ---so sad. But you gotta do what you need to do. It'll be ok - well rustproofed.

let me know what quote you get for the steel rims and snows and I'll see if my friend can beat it. I have driven a G body in the winter and I found with 4 snow tires you can turn and go with a 50 lbs sand bag over each rear tire you'll be able to go just about anywhere.

a G body is a blast in the winter, the snows adds 400 hp to your engine.....

I am only kidding about driving the Monte in the winter. That would be the last thing I would consider. Today's road salt brine is sticky and corrosive and would love to snack on old metal. I am fortunate I have another car to offer the road salt monster.

I was wondering - your reply seemed very sincere. I feel a little bad for stringing you along.

I can't believe you find this funny, I'm going ask GP403 to set up a safe room so those like me won't have to deal with the deplorables like you...😛

Get the body back on the frame and then off to the paint shop. By paint shop I mean doing it myself at the local community college. For 300 a class I can restore my car with their tools and paint booth. Way cheaper than paying labor rates and I learn a new skill also. 16 week commitment for classes is the only downfall.
May i ask how you learned about this? I would love to get to do that to my 84ss.!! Unfortunately for it's just me myself and I doing it all and most of it i have NO.!!! clue about what I'm doing.!!. I'd like to see pictures when completed by the class. Thanks
Chris

The community college by me (I assume most) like projects like this. The instructors like it because it’s more realistic and real world training for the students as opposed to tearing apart the same cars/body panels. You just have to sign a waiver to hold the college harmless for the repairs done.
