So I called MRO and they gave me the names of 3 local distributors, Fastenal is one of them. I called Fastenal and I'd have to order a minimum of $200 worth to get it from them. The other two places are closed until Monday but I will be calling them to see if they can get it for me.

If not, Plastikote seems to have okay reviews for their engine paints.

I have some Plasikote out in the garage but have never used it.

Id try it on the drivers valve cover and see how it holds up to oil being wiped off it, among other things. Clear coat will help a lot with either paint.

The Plastikote is definitely thicker, nozzle wanted to plug and held up fine on my 350.

I talked to the two other paint suppliers today. One is wholesale only, neither place stocks it and the one that is open to the public has a minimum order of 2 cases. Kinda sucks, but I don't want to spend almost $200 on paint. I talked to my usual auto body paint supplier and they can get me POR15 in a similar red or they can mix up a red in whatever paint system I want, but it won't be high heat. Neither of those options sound really appealing to me, but I talked to a few guys who have used Duplicolor successfully, so that's what I'm gonna go with.

I rolled the car out of the garage today and washed it for the second time since I've owned it. I also got the old exhaust removed. And then I spent a while cleaning the garage so when the engine gets back I can actually work in there. I didn't hear from the machine shop but I'm sure I will by the end of the week.

Here's a few pictures after I washed it-
