I applaud you for doing this yourself. I paid to have mine done...

I'm sufficiently impressed with what I see here that I ordered a set for the coupe. I'll add them to the pile of 'to be installed' parts boxes in the garage. The problem? The pile of boxes of bits and axles is filling up the garage so I can't pull the car in to work on it during the winter.

Ha, yeah- all this has been a great experience- my welding sucks but I'm trying- not moving the puddle good at all... I'll post more pics if this once I get the plates in the frame. Welding well is a gift!

Welding is a skill. And I don't have it after 15 years of trying. I make up for quality with quantity and a die grinder.
You might try raising the heat a little and making little 'C' shaped motions when welding two plates at 90 degrees. That's the theory anyway. Half the time, I can't see through the welding helmet so I end up stitching across the metal rather than the joint...

I hope you installed the uppers too. Take it a step further (I couldn't use bottom brackets with my set-up)

I didn't order theirs(oversight), I have plenty of 3/16 scrap left from the notch to cut and weld in an angle brace and left over washers from frame holes I'll use to strengthen that area. Car will have somewhere around 450hp max so I hope I'll be alright.. Also bought the UMI Shock tower brace and the upper control arm brace.... Got to get this frame done and to powdercoat so I can move on to getting body on rotisserie. I'm losing my bro-in-laws garage to a move in March so this is now in high gear..
