Found the 84 Regal abandoned in a farmers field, it had almost an inch of algae. It started out as a father-son project. It originally had V-6, with an automatic. The engine was so wore out you could turn it over by hand. Yanked the engine and replaced it with rebuilt 355 from an early 90's truck. Edelbrock Carb and Performer Intake. I had installed a 700R4 from a late 80's Camaro. I scored a T-Type 3.73 Posi rearend and a Turbo Hood from some guy on Craigslist. The rims from EBAY and KUMHOs from a car going to the crusher. I installed the Posi and went to show my son what it could do..did a nice posi burnout shifted in to second gear...and that when the trans went..thats when we decided to change it to a manual..scored a 5 speed on EBAY. Went to install it and realized the linkage and slave cylinder would interfere with the left header. Time to use a hydraulic clutch master, and hydraulic throwout bearing. Had to cut the flange off of the bellhousing (Chevy Camaro donor) to clear the header. Used a Hydraulic Clutch master cylinder from a GM Product, it had to be angled to mount beneath the Power Brake Booster..the plastic Hydraulic clutch master started leaking around the top (cheap chinese piece of crap) so I had install a McLeod Clutch Master Cylinder but then I notice the firewall was flexing. So I had to make a 1/4 plate that went between the Brake Power Booster and the firewall to mount the clutch master cylinder. Now I got the drivetrain squared, its time to start on the body work...

heres mine its a 84 monte ss with a 385 stroker and im in the process of bodywork and dressing up the engine bay

4 years ago i bought this 78 el camino, because ive wanted one since i was 4 or 5 years old. when i first got it i knew generally how motors and cars work since i work on my saturn pritty much all the time. but this was a v8 and an older car and i thought i was in pritty good shape with keep it running. boy was i wrong! i payed 2k for it which was 1000 too much. the guy who sold it to me, he called himself turtle( ) said that the engine was a 350 chevy and a th350 trans and a stock rear. he said he used it as a tow car for his drag racing elky(the one i first saw and thought that was the car he was selling me). so i get the car home and its not shifting right, so i find this forum and join and everyone here has helped me out a WHOLE BUNCH! im very happy i found GBF. the first mod i did to my car was up grad the rear end, kinda... heres some pics of when i first bought it:

that was the first summer i had it, i must have driven it like a couple hand fulls of times before i figured out my rear end was shot. so then began that and the engine running like crap.

oh and i forgot to mention my fuel lines going bad and replacing all the lines AND the sending unit i modded:

so then the engine started to run REALLY crappy so i thought it was the timing, then the carb, then i thought well if i replace all the gaskets and get the motor cleaned up itll run right! then i found out its not a 350 sbc, its a 307 sbc.
:blam:
so then started my 3 year long rebuild process with alot of help from here. we'll just say my skills at diaganosing problems were yet to be... theres a whole bunch of pages of my build thread here with lots of pics: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8386
and if ya wanna see a WHOLE CRAPLOAD of pics, and you have myspace, you can see them here: http://www.myspace.com/boozermonkey
thers some videos and other random stuff there as well.
good news is now after i rebuilt the motor and the trans, it runs!!!!!!!! YAY! GO ME!! :friday:

:bump: lets get some more submissions in, we have some great ones already but would love to get more.

@kuruption, im glad you put the old front end back on. Looks really good even without being painted!
