Junkyard alternator/electric fan swap (back from the yard)

Here's a shot of mine. The holes are for where the inlet and outlet for my BeCool radiator fall. This is obviously not going in a Gbody. To the left is what Ford calls a VCRM. It is an integrated relay module that controls the fan, fuel pump, etc. It has about 20 wires connected to it. My project will be using a factory Ford harness so I'll be using it but some HD relays would be fine. The blade is about 17 1/2" in diameter. The radiator core on the Mark VIIIs is pretty thin and not very tall or wide so these fans need to move a ton of air to cool the 4.6 DOHC. My '93 Mark VIII never ran warm even on the hottest of days with the AC on. Not sure if it is exactly the same as a T-bird or Cougar but it looks pretty close and they are the same platform.

I was thinking about just wiring up two hard switches. One for the low and one for the high settings. Figured it was about time to upgrade the electrical systems as I was already having trouble with my stock replacement alternator.

I looked up last night why the ford fans are so efficient. Everyone was saying because of the small air inlet for the motors, Ford spent a lot of money developing their electrical fans to move a ton of air.
