Better exhaust is good idea but make sure it is emissions legal. Can you go dual exhaust and dual cats? I noticed a good bump in power over 1 7/8" dual exhaust with shorty headers and 2.5" dual exhaust. The factory exhaust is beyond horrible. A 3.08 gear will be tolerable with the .80 overdrive 5th gear but still improve launch. No, $2000 was fair for that car's condition.
