Khan,
Damn nice runs friend...I'm loving the wheel up in the air, actually jealous at that!!! Them stickies helped a bunch. Now your gonna want to run faster..trust me on that 🙂 What rpm are you leaving at, tire pressure/size you running on them slicks??? Congrats!!! 😀

Re: Khan's Motoring Chronicles - PICTURES & VIDEOS

JBreu, if you can believe, those are still my shitty old slicks. The track prep was good. The day was cold and cars getting sideways, so they put down alot of glue. Watch this video

at 0:08 you can see the car squirming around

on the launch, she was starting to hook pretty good towards the end of the day. With the new converter, I'm leaving the line around 2800-3000rpm, no footbrake, just flash.

New slicks next summer, and maybe 4.11s if I'm still up for it and I hope to see low 12s

Re: Khan's Motoring Chronicles - PICTURES & VIDEOS

finally overhauling the rear end. It's a 8.5 10bolt out of an 86 Grand National, with 3.42 gears, posi, still all stock.
it has seen it's share of use & abuse, and starting to show it's age. The clutches are warn, and with the engine work and seeing more track use, I decided to also upgrade to 4.11 ratio gears. The torque converter I installed last summer was designed for this setup.

my intention was to do this during the engine build last summer, but the engine work took too much time. The plan was moved to the start of this summer, but life got in the way. My intention was also to try and rebuild myself, but it will just keep getting put off if I aim for this. So enough is enough...

I ordered the parts, and it's going into a shop to have it done.

here's a gear set

Re: Khan's Motoring Chronicles - PICTURES & VIDEOS

That is a great bearing kit and gear set..I never thought of it before but with a small pinion like that it won't have a much leverage to try to walk away from the crown....

whoa, that went over my head a bit...
yeah, I think it's a nice set. I've always bought from summit, but their gear-setup kits weren't as nice, or had name-brand bearings. They had cheaper Gears though.
I've been looking at the Jegs kits from the start, because of the Timken bearings. I also verified their gear sets were US made. And right now, they have "free shipping" (which doesn't really work for Canadian orders, but I did save some change on handling charges).

My clutch pack arrived today, will take pictures and post.
