As said, what exactly are you getting for $1,000? If all your getting is what you listed above its an absolute rip off! Those are all basic tune-up items that you could get for less than $100.

Yeah just a used 350 with the parts listed above.
See now I am starting to freak out, I don't want to be ripped off.
I got 1700 from taxes I am giving them 1000 of it for this.
That leaves me with only 700 and that's to move into another apartment and buy all of our baby stuff.

Do you get to keep your old engine? I would grab it if you can. Spare parts, nuts and bolts, scrap weight, etc.

Yeah I get to keep my old one.
I was going to sell the good parts and scrap the rest.

But now I am starting to freak out about all this talk, I don't know what to do if we get ripped again.

For a known good engine, sounds OK. Did you ever time the motor and put on a known good carb? If your Wife is happy, you will be happy 😀.

They said they heard it run and drove it they said it had low miles.
But yeah shes happy but when I show her what everyone is saying I know she will be kind of angry.

If tis kind of stuff is what the guy does all the time and makes a living do so, you should be fine. Seems as if he was understanding and gave a decent price to do the work. don't worry so much man. go for it.

That's exactly what my wife said, He does have a lot of business and mostly from the older car generation.
He has cars all the time from 40's to mine all the way to 2011 cars.

But thanks a bunch man, I will and I will tell everyone how it goes and will for sure video it and upload it and the first place it will go is right here.

When the head gasket goes this is the cheapest way to get back on the road fast. I'd consider having the other engine rebuilt entirely off to the side in the mean time, b/c you're really gambling anytime you install a used 'new' engine. I'd hate to see you in the same boat a few months from now b/c of some other issue keeping you off the road. Whatever you do, just dont flip out and buy a brand new car from a dealership if the car gets you mad. Locking the handcuffs to financial enslavement and paying more than the cost of rent for these new plastic body cars is a lot worse place to be in with a newborn child being a factor.

Thanks for this, and I could easily put down a few bucks every week to rebuild the if i decided to keep it.
Makes a little more sense.
Thanks again and never will I lease out a car from a dealer, That would be something I could/would never do my entire family is leasing cars and their in bigger predicaments than I am.
Yeah I could do a monthly bill for 32 months while trying to move out, buy furniture and raising the baby, NO THANKS haha.
