clean the motor off real good bro! where are you located again?
Agreed, you need to clean the motor off really good where all the oil is. then run the engine and find where u are getting fresh oil running.

you
reread a bit. u say near the glasspacks, so the glasspipes are positioned really close to the the front of the car, i.e near the trans.

Is any of the oil getting on the exhaust manifold/header or just further down. check the intake manifold gasket also if its not the valve cover. If it was you head gaskets and leaking that much oil, i think you would be getting alot more blueish smoke from the car when running.

Yeah I would say its about a foot from the trans not to close but not to far away.
See that's what i thought as well, but its a solid thick white smoke.
it comes out a lot.

But I will definitely clean it off tomorrow.
Thanks.

sometimes it helps to park on a clean driveway and see if it drips then you can see where it comes from. So you say it's white smoke? if it's not coming out the tail pipe then i would be looking for a leak. If it is then i would be looking at the engine..Does smoke while idling or just actually driving?

I do have it parked in a clean drive way and the puddle is coming from the middle of the exhaust pipe.
About halfway down.

I haven't really checked if it was coming from the end or anywhere else, But tomorrow I will definitely get down there and watch it, possibly record it for sure.

Re: located the problem! !UPDATE!

Was wondering if this would be a good deal.
My wife called the shop up the road and he quoted he.
1000$ to: take my engine out give it back to me, get a new 350 with all new parts, pulling all my old wires out cleaning the engine bay, and a 60 day warranty.
I was wondering if I should take this route, pretty much my wife is doing this because she said she doesn't want to get rid of this and buy a new one.
She said she would rather fix this car up and make it run so we don't have to worry about another car.
what she want's is, even if there is nothing wrong with the engine she knows this will be a new engine and will be better on us.
But what I am scared of is I just don't know if this is the right way to go, should I do this or should I just stop it?
I am just scared.

But I guess if do the swap, I will sell all my good parts from the old 350 Or scrap it.u

that's a decent deal if he's supplying the engine.....and get it ALL in writing.

I got everything in writing he just came over and I made sure I got everything in writing.
The truck is coming to pick it up in a few hours.

Here's what he is getting:
Motor, all oil, filters, ngk plugs, omni spark plugs, water pump, cap, button and anti freeze.
Everything should be done and ready for me on the 9th.

also I can check the car out whenever I want, as the shop is literally a block away.

He is going to hopefully switch over my carb, valve covers and all my steel lines.
If the carb is good that is and doesn't need rebuilt.

For $1000!?!?

And why two sets of spark plugs? Did you mean spark plug wires?

if your hoping he's going to do something then you don't have it ALL in writing. You should have learned by now that hoping for something usually doesn't work out in your favor. Make sure you both know what to expect in writing so there is no misunderstandings
