Welcome from Iowa. Your car brings back memories. When I repainted my 79 Monte in high school, I painted it almost that same color. I love that color, we gave it a little bit more of a purple hue and a lot of purl. I have been saying when I rebuild that car I am painting it the same color as yours. For now I am just going to let that car sit and rot for a couple more years.View attachment 55465
how long has your car sat? Lol

Thanks Turbo Zach and everyone else, I appreciate it!

Great looking Monte, David.
. Like the other members have expressed....nice choice of color. Tastefully done car, not over the top, or gaudy. Oh, and welcome aboard.

Kind of reminds me a little of TonySS' car, but Tony has since sold it. Perhaps you can find a link to it. His Monte was sweet.

Thanks for the kind words Longroof79, but yes I do remember seeing his car on this and the pro-touring forum, and I've bought some shirts from him, a big inspiration for the look I was going for with this car, so hats off to him! I do remember when it got shipped off, when I used to lurk around these grounds haha I haven't seen him post in a long time. I'm sure I'm not the only one he inspired, that was a cool looking Monte for sure!!!
I might be getting some new wheels for it next year, the only thing I need to do really is re-do the lower control arm bushings and put my blazer spindle/C5 brakes on.
Thanks again!!

You're welcome, man. You gotta give credit when credit is due. 🙂
I was going to mention Tony from Mac-ink T-shirts. Love his shirts, btw. I could see where he inspired you on your car.
I haven't talked to Tony in awhile, but last time we spoke, he's out of G-bodies at this time.
He's owned some primo examples, too. He has a knack for finding nice clean cars.
That reminds me, I'm about due for a new T-shirt. 😉

Hahaha! I was thinking the same thing!! Mine is faded now that I've washed it a million times, its not weird that i have to wear that shirt when i take the car out is it? Haha

Hahaha...no, it's not weird at all. It clearly shows pride in ownership..
I like your video. Man, there's some wide open spaces in your neck of the woods...and long traffic lights...lol! I feel like I was a passenger tagging along for the ride.
That is one smooth running 327..not loud, but has a nice throaty exhaust note.
Those have always been great little engines.
Thanks for sharing the video..😀
