The install is easy, just need to 'notch' with a (die grinder or dremel) the bottom of the steering column shaft so the bolt passes. Never shipped anything to Tahiti?? If you can find a late 90's- 2005 Astro or Safari van there, the shaft modification isn't too bad. Just need a welder to weld the knuckle back on. I can check on shipping if you want?

you can peen the shaft to secure the knuckle after you rotate it.

Please adjust the steering box, so the wheel returns by itself, asap. I was told this misadjustment can damage the box.

Hi guys !!

I tried to contact the differents junk yards of here but they don't have any jeep part.. I think I won't find it here.

What do you recommend between an astro shaft and a jeep grand cherockee shaft ?

-astro shaft : needs a notch on the colum, to dismantle it to make it 90 degre turn and a welding (I am not sure to find a welder easily here...)

-grand cherockee : it bolts on without any modifications ?? can it extend like the astro ? to put it on easily !

I would prefer a bolt on part !!
there is a grand cherockee here for exemple, is it the good one ?

What is the easiest way to pull out the original shaft ? To cut it ? I would prefer avoid to pull out the steering box !

Thanks !

you grind of the peened metal to remove the knuckle and when you install it you can peen the metal on the shaft to hold it in place, no need to weld it. If you are concerned that will not hold it with the peening use some green loctite sleeve retainer on it. Or you can drill through the knuckle and shaft and put a spring pin in the hole to secure the knuckle in place

i have used a number of Jeep shafts on different g bodys - they work great and are easy to install. i always get it from a GRAND Cherokee '91-'95
and, yes, after viewing your vid, it's the rag joint beyond doubt.
