I agree you do amazing work, ever thought about doing this as a career? haha

Thanks man! Haven't really thought about it, but its mainly a hobby and the best part is that it doesnt feel like work. Its a great way to spend time with the old man, couldnt do it without him.

Re: New Project 81 Monte Build

Some updates on the monte. I just finished removing the front clip from the SS and stripped the front fenders and deck lid. All where rust free which will save some time. I also started painting the front air box and other pieces for the SS nose conversion. The SS spoiler an tail light extensions cleaned up nice. I got a set of moroso trick rear springs, rear drum brake kit and 4:11 center section on there way from quick performance on their way. The firewall is completed now, I cleaned and painted the wiper motor/linkage and the orignal A/C delete box turned out great. Next step is to complete the 9" and get it installed, then time to get ready for paint.

I debated on just putting a block off plate in its place, but I just think it would be a pain in the stones if the windows fog. Also the A/C deleted box just has a clean look to begin with. I now have a complete spare A/C delete box from the SS, I guess they are hard to come by in some places?

Re: New Project 81 Monte Build

Just a quick update.

Having unreal weather here in Ontario, feels like summer already 😀 Pushed the monte out of the shop for the first time since october. I had to make a change to the roll cage door bar on the drivers side, because I found out that im too big to fit between the steering wheel and the door bar. Installed a swing out door bar kit which makes it soooo much easier to get in. should of done this in the first place knowing the car was going to be street drivin.

I'm not sure if Competition Engineering makes a g-body el camino kit, ive never checked. I imagine that you could use the hoop and door bars from the kit like mine. I bet somebody on here has put bars in a el camino.
