Do you mean changing first gear to a higher ratio?

They sell a 2.84/ 1.55 first second gear ratio set which makes for much more friendly launches if you drag race. It makes first gear longer and avoids the drastic gear ration split on the 1-2 shift.

Good work. After wasting money on crapola scanners I finally realized you need to pay around $200 for a good scan tool. I have the OTC 3111 PRO and the AUTEL Maxi-pro. The OTC is 10 years old but both show real time operating conditions. The one year old AUTEL is self-powered and a little better at some things.

I went on a limb and bought this. We'll see if its a weak limb or strong one

That would work good in the wagon since it has 3.73 rear now.

Here's a question about a technique I have not tried. This car is getting stripped. So once I have it down to the shell, except leave the engine and trans in. And leave the rear axle in with the tires on it. The body alone should be pretty light in the front. I mean interior, doors, glass all will be off the car. Suppose I drop the the back of the car off the stands and onto the tires. Then, unbolt the k member, trans crossmember and other things like exhaust hangers and stuff. Then lift the front of the car so the body tilts back and leaves the engine, trans and k member on the floor, then just slide it out and drop the body back down on a dolly

Doable?

Is that a 94-95 only LT1 scanner? Talk about a b*st*rd computer. I really can't talk, mine is a 93. 1 year only ECM.

Its the 94 that you must have a scanner for. Cant do the paperclip trick

You should be OK. They were just about to switch to OBD 2 then, as my daughter's '95 Formula is OBD2. OBD1 only scanners are pretty cheap now but finding a good brand is getting hard. There were a LOT of really bad excuses for a scanner out there. The Harbor Break models comes to mind.
