I know this had been discussed a while back, however, I need the measurements for the console brackets with breadbox and shifter base bracket. I'd like to weld these in before doing the sound deadening and carpet replacement...makes sense, huh?

Thank you!

Anyone with a Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino bucket seat/ console car (with the carpet pulled up) that wouldn't mind taking a few measurements for me...I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

I have a LeMans scraped. Were havin a storm now but if I can get into her tomorrow i will measure it up for ya.

That would be great. I would really appreciate it. I'm assuming the brackets would be in the same positions throughout the A/G-body line...except for the forward bracket/ tab for the breadbox extension which would be Chevy only.

Thanks again! 😀

Wish I could help Jack. I kinda just droped the console and shifter in place and welded away.

Jack...I'm not sure how soon you are needing this info....I have out in my storage shed on the acreage a floor section cut out of an 81 Malibu with the console brackets and I believe the floor shifter is still bolted to it too. I may have to go out there as I have a request for parts that I have stored out there. I don't access the shed in winter as it blows in with snow pretty bad but with the bit of warmer we had it may be somewhat easier to get to now.

Let me know
Kevin

Thanks Kevin.
If you're going out to the acreage and wouldn't mind taking a few measurements, that would be super. I'd also need the measurement of the cable access hole as well. There's no dire need for it now, just trying to get a few things in order before I put down any sound deadening material. Still undecided as what to use yet.
Kevin, if it's a pain in the butt to get to,don't worry about it.

Thanks Jim, It's probably as simple as that. Pretty much like positioning and welding in the bucket seat inner brackets.

It might not be too bad now Jack...shed door faces South...but is kinda in the shelter belt so hopefully it's got some of the warmer sun on it now. Gald we didn't get as much snow as last year. I remember a member from off here...I think he was in the next province over here in Canada....he was interested in a 82 + header panel I have out there. Went out and shoveled a 50' long pathway to it and brought it into town. After doing so he never responded to my messages and soon dropped off the site. That was a pain in the butt!

Supposed to be 43*F on Saturday so I may just head out there.

Kevin,
That's downright inconsiderate.. having to shovel a path to the shed for the header panel...bringing it home and the dude flakes out on you. I would be pissed.

So it's going to be balmy on Saturday?...Woo hoo! Just teasing you my friend. Like I said, there's no rush. If you happen to find your way out there for another purpose and have a tape measure, and a piece of paper and a pen handy.

Thank you, Kevin.

Can anyone help me out with these measurements? Preferably from a Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino with a breadbox console. The measurements could be the same on a LeMans, or GP...not sure.
