alright , I have a weird situation here on my 1978 el co and I will try and describe it the best I can. I changed all my bulbs to LEDS with the exception of headlights and marker bulbs. I also put in an EL12 flasher and check all fuses. when i turn my hazards on with headlights OFF they flash as they should . when i turn on the headlights nothing flashes. when i turn on turn signals my rear lights do not work and the rear marker bulbs for the opposite side also turn on. when head lights are on nothing happens , no hazards turn signals or brake/reverse lights. i’ve cleaned all light receptacles. read a lot about checking grounds but not sure where to find them. looking for some advice on where to go from here . thank you

Also, not all EL12's are good for LEDs. I would make sure that it is an LED specific flasher. If not, buy one from painless, part number 80230. It has a ground wire that needs to be hooked up. When you see the picture of it, it looks like its a 3 prong, but its just a shadow, definitely a 2 prong.

If everything worked fine before the LED swap, this is the first step I would take. I have sold EL12's that were good for LEDs, but caused problems. Of all the LED upgrades that I've helped customers with, many had issues with LED flashers or resistors. The painless flasher always solved the problem.

Sounds like ground issues in the sockets. Pull bulbs out and make sure they are the right ones. Look closely at the ground tabs in the sockets. Take a jumper wire and touch the bulb base to see if it starts working

flasher helped but not out of the woods yet. with new flasher both turn signals work properly. with headlights on left side works fine but the right side does a couple tripple clicks then stops work until headlights are off.

and that was with the engine running, right? I'd say start doing circuit checks for amps, volts, and ohms. also check grounds. IIRC, the psgr side is the end of the headlight circuit.

87 monte carlo ss. I added holley retro fit led bulbs(made by morimoto) with their led relays H40LED part number for turn signal and hazards. When I turn on the turn signal the lights come on and stay solid. I've cleaned both grounds on core support and the one in the trunk. Tried to add the painless performance 8xxxxx part number relay I seen recommended in the fourm. Didn't fix the issue. Has same thing happen. If I put an incandescent light bulb in the top socket of the brake lights the turn signal works fine. But if that one socket gets an led it's game over. Lights up but won't flash. I'm stumped. If someone can help that would be amazing. Thankyou
