The metric fasteners on my 1978 El Camino are a kind of dark aqua,/greenish/blue. Has anybody mimicked this color on their fasteners? If so what color did you use? I would like to duplicate this on my restification...
I spent about an hour at the local body shop supply company going through paint chips without finding a match that is close enough.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Back in the day when those bolts were fresh I seem to recall they were pretty close to GM corporate blue as used on the engines

They are close but seem a shade or two darker when I compare them with the engine side by side. But I am inclined to paint them using GM blue.

I use a Tamiya Model Paint that is like a chalky light blue. On my 87SS only the end of the bolt as well as the head that color. Some didn't at all. (I'm the original owner). The bottle label is long gone. It was as close as I could get. This paint is water based so I just did a light dusting on the few that can be seen. I would go with GM Blue

I'll get hate mail for this: It's a 78 Camino no one has an original never molested one to compare.

If an unmolested fastener is what is being looked for, I might just happen to have one or a few lurking about due to my bad habit of including the bolts and bits when I hit the yard and score parts. I have a picture shoot coming up in the immediate future and can easily add a couple of close ups of one of them, assuming I can lay hands on a sample, and post it here. Interested?

Yes I have 2 from my hood latch that are fairly worn but have some color remaining on them so if you can get a good color shot that would be a big help!

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't think about looking at model paints for a potential match that's a great idea!

Close to the color of a ziploc bag. These are off of a 79 H/O. Not sure if the color is the same.

I'll do some digging around. FYI, I also happen to have a painters forumula for GM engine blue. Took a sample in to my local paint shop and their chemist cooked me up a couple of foo-foo bombs for an engine shot that came as close as anything I have ever seen otherwise. Colorwise it is not as dark a blue as the two bolts in the first pic but darker than the tamiya shade shown a few comments earlier.

Those are a bit brighter that my examples, these came from my hood latch, so they were relatively unexposed from the elements
