OK guys, I recently bought a good used M-20 Muncie 4-speed .I would like to put it in my '80 Malibu behind my Ram-Jet 350.Car currently has a TH350 and a Auburn pro-series posi w/3:08 gears
Has anyone done this ?
What shifters will work?HURST?
Will my og driveshaft work?
Who makes a dual exhaust cross-member?
I plan on hunting the pedals, etc from a wrecking yard.I have the bell housing/clutch/etc.Any pointers are welcome!

THIS IS STILL IN THE BAD IDEA STAGES!!!!!!!!

Should be pretty straight forward as the 78-80 cars could be had with a Saginaw 4 speed. Don't quote me, but I think the drive shaft would be the same length as a turbo 350 with the 6 inch extension housing. Someone else will have to chime in about what shifter might fit with a muncie.

Check out 87 442 the way they should have been I went hydraulic but with a Chevy small block you should not have the issues I did th350 and Muncie use the same driveshaft and cross member.make shore you have a g-body bell housing and clutch fork the pivot is lower in the bell housing and the fork is curved my shifter is a Hurst competition Plus from a 70 Chevelle and I made it work in the automatic console check out my build thred also many others on here

Reach out to airboatgreg. He just did this swap. Send him a PM (start a conversation).

I just put a Muncie in my 82 El C. Had 200 from factory then a 350 put in. Cross member same, drive shaft same. Had to change starter. Pilot bushing depending on year of engine. Inspection plate and clutch arm was a little bit of a pain but worked. Check this link https://gbodyforum.com/threads/equipping-a-g-body-with-a-manual-trans.15430/
If you have a bench seat that is an issue as the shifter sits farther back than the Saginaw. I have the factory boot and metal bracket and while not perfect I will probably go with.

I put a M-21 in my car about 20 years ago. Still rocking it too! Same crossmember, same output yoke, driveshaft too. Just get pedals and linkage, cut a hole in the floor, use whatever shifter you want. I recommend buying a shifter hump, trim, and boot too.

From when i had to put a floor pan in it.

From those pics, the shifter ends up about where my floor shifter is mounted at the moment.Car has bucket seats and I have the console, just not installed.May not need much to modify the console!

Be careful using my pics for reference. There is an aluminum block bolted to the trans, then the shifter is bolted to that in order to space the shifter further to the drivers side. This allows straight rods and heim joints for the shift linkage which of course give a very firm, positive feel. I've had several people comment they thought my car was an automatic because when I drive, i usually drive hard and thats how quick it can be shifted LOL.
