Yep everything was properly setup and installed. The aftermarket reproduction fork is not as this or heavy as the oem. The oem is much nicer. The streaks your seeing were from excess arp lube from under the bolt heads

I don't use any lubricant on bolts for the flywheel or pressure plate. I use blue torque seal on those bolts. The only lubricant I use is a little on the nose of the input shaft. It doesn't take alot of lubricant to ruin a clutch disk . If you look at the pressure pate and the flywheel the inside portion of the flywheel is discolored and id that was caused by the lubricant it could have caused the clutch disk to shudder. It is hard tell by a picture what the flywheel really looks like so most of my post is just a guess

I gotcha. Well I'm guessing it will clean up with a surfacing.

Man, what a mess. I agree, no lube except the pilot bearing, and fork fingers/pivot. How's that reverse gear? Being straight cut it will suffer the most abuse. I used to run a RAM 3500lb PP and all my stock linkage lasted forever. However I do strengthen the "Z" bar as a matter of course. Those stock GM welds are pathetic.

Please explain more on your lube points, where can I get a replacement ball stud for the bell? Guess this time I won't use the lube

I haven't looked at reverse yet. Need to spliut the case and put new gaskets in her. The anaerobic sealant paul recommended to me didn't seal right. This time I'm going to coat the gaskets with the right stuff. I don't like gear oil in the garage floor

Ok cool. What kind of grease would you recomend? I'll be dropping off my flywheel at the machine shop here shortly for surfacing if I can cut out of work for a few

I use white lithium, it's good for high temperatures. Make sure they balance the flywheel after they surface it.

Picked the flywheel back up from resurfacing. Was checked for balance and runout. Everything is good to go

Came home and my act clutch showed up. This sfi approved and balanced unit is beefy as hell.

Now it came with the needle pilot bearing but I ordered an oil lite bronze pilot as well. Anyone ever use the rollers before?
