Looks mean with the M/T meats on it.

some pics from the opening night at e-town raceway park by me...

GM did some things really right, some really wrong. Not so much on the Camaro but the Firebird's bubble tail lights were awful. Also what the hell were they thinking with the 7.625" rear end? GM put the 8.5" in most of the performance G bodies. These started out at 275 HP, a hell of a lot more other than GN, yet no 8.6" rear end.

I like the ws6 trans ams as well... but i really love my car... after about 80-100 passes launching at 5k on a drag radial i blew the 10 bolt...

I have a moser ford 9" 35 spine axle, spool with 4.30 gears so its pretty bullet proof

All the fast ones have 9" rears put in. If GM wouldn't have bean counted and put the 8.6" in first place, it wouldn't be a 2 grand touch for a serious racer. It didn't help they upgraded the 7.5" slightly but made the housing thinner than the earlier cars, good idea. Unless I could get a WS6 with different tail lights and already had a 9" installed, it would have to be cheap to purchase which they most are these days. Enjoy, not many around anymore.

Actually the WS6 rear looks good, just looking at pics, the regular ones are awful. Hmm, now I want one.

The rear end was done on purpose to keep the rest of the drivetrain alive long enough for owners to pay off their cars, LOL. Take the newer camaros, those break the shafts in the IRS should the traction mngmt system be overridden. So, I've seen/heard.

Well then GM is plain stupid. It has to be dollars related and some engineer thinking it could be strong enough or a Chevy thing as well. Look at the Monte SS. They went with the 7.625" when Olds and Buick went with the 8.5". The 307HO was only 180 HP and the 3.8 200 HP at the time. It ruined an otherwise very capable car. Ford ran the 8.8 in the Mustang. Look at the power the big three put out now. My Challenger SE has smaller axles and shafts than the R/T or SRT. Pretty sure the Camaro and Mustang are the same way.

ran in street wars #1 today was able to get the car dialed in a little more...

not bad for a cam only , stick car...
