Shoot Beeter do what you want. I was just playing the devils advocate for ya. Both of mine were baffled because I didn't think my carbed 509 442 swilled any less fuel or turned corners any slower than my sequential port fuel injected 231 GN.
It looks like the LS sits quite high in the engine bay. Curious about your performance and mileage compared to the 455. Wonder if you can beat the hot 403 you had in the 1/4.
If your ever thinking of going EFI you can alway go with a Fast EZ-EFI setup. I put it on my 434 stroker it did wonders. Best thing I did to that engine. I'm going getting 12.6mpg while driving with my foot in it as compared to 10mpg while driving it easy. Just an idea. Your engine looks great. And I thought youd never take out the olds engine.
