Salvage good ones fron the junkyard. PM L.A.X-RATED to see if he as any in his stash.
I’m not sure what this part is called? I looked in my Chiltons GM Pontiac Mid Size 1974-83 Repair manual and there is nothing about it? It does go too the seat belt rewinder behind the bottom side interior panel along side back seat bottom.
I have since used a butane soldering torch to plastic weld the piece back together and then used some JB weld to see if I can make it strong enough to work? It does have a pretty strong spring on it, so I don’t know?

I fixed the broken seat belt adjuster I have. It worked plastic welding, then apply JB Weld and a thin coat of POR-15 seam sealer & contact adhesive. Nice and strong.

Just need to take a file to it, smooth it out. Hit it with a little buffing wheel and ya never know the difference. Been using POR-15 (Por-Patch) seam sealer for restoring broken plastic parts for years. Works great and usually stronger than the plastic it’s bonding or rebuilding.

I guess it’s another case of nothing lasts forever. I have had good results with the POR15 products I have used. (rust preventive coating) As long as it’s on blasted clean metal! I’ll Try their header paint and see how it does?

Headers rust from the inside out faster than from the outside in. Wrapping helps the exhaust to stay hot so it flows quicker

Can anyone tell me what these two pieces are for? They were in the trunk of my Pontiac with all the other trim that wasn’t on the car when I got it. Their about three feet long.

How’s it going fellas, it’s been a while and thought I would give a update on my car..
I managed to swing The cash for a built 700R4 and also a pair of pro comp aluminum big block GM cylinder heads.
Their rectangle port, 02.25 intake & 01.88 exhaust valves. Their set up for hydraulic flat tappet but was thinking about going with a roller assembly?
I’m kinda at a cross roads so to speak. I’m not too Up with big blocks, we always rebuilt small blocks when we were younger because they were cheaper.
I’m really trying to figure out what cam I need to make around 500-550 hp out of a stock 1979 (454) truck motor? I was told also I need longer push rods for the heads I have?
I’m not to sure about that, the guy I got them heads from told me that. He also said I needed longer head bolts on one side of each head which he gave me the ARP longer bolts.

I took the heads to the machine shop and they replaced two intake valve seats on one head and one intake valve seat in the other.
they also resurfaced them for me and checked my valve spring pressures and wrote them down on on tags wired to each head.
