Nice match, Mich.

This Fern Grey color is a pain in the butt. Looks grey, looks green. All depends on the angle and lighting.

Well ferns are green. So what do you want from "Fern Grey"? 😀

GM sure had some odd color ideas. My '83 sedan has what they called "Sand Grey". In one light it looks grey, in another it looks beige or tan. Also depends on what you hold it next to for comparison. I guess these were supposed to be chameleon colors. Very sophisticated. 🙄

I saw that color in the Detroit book at the upholstery shop. When I sent the door panel to SEM the girl that I was dealing with said it was a "metameric" color. Never heard of that. She said it looks different in every type of light. I guess your color is the same.

I will save you the discomfort of having me babble on about colour theory and the psychology of perception. Good work!

I've got the 'light camel' interior on both cars right now. I picked up an uncracked used OEM dash about 5 years ago in black. In order to cover up a multitude of sins, I think I will go all black interior for the coupe, and hopefully there will not be 'Shades of Grey' in 'black'. I do understand the advice matte finish, though. The wagon dash was dyed some time back and it's much shiner than the rest of the interior.

Just a quick update for you folks !
The folks at SEM matched a gallon of Presedio Grey for me and I received it yesterday afternoon. Opened it today and while the weather was nice I was able to respray a bunch of stuff. A pillars, B pillars, all the headliner trim, speaker grills for the back, the metal parts to the back seat and even the tailgate.
The tech support guy at SEM told me to wipe everything down with plastic prep. Nothing else. No adhesion promoter needed at all since it was already sprayed once. I have to say it covered pretty well with 2 coats. Im using an HVLP detail gun with a 1.0 tip. Im liking the new color way more that the original greenish grey. It goes well with the carpet color and the Olds cloth that Im planning to use on the seats. I put the piece on the tailgate as soon as it dried because I really wanted to see how the color looked.

Im hoping to have the rear side panels and D pillar trim out tomorrow but its supposed to rain for the next few days. I also have one of my friends coming over to help me get the cargo area floor out. So much easier with two people. The other trick is removing one of the tailgate cables. Makes it easy to get past everything.
Tomorrow Im ordering all the OEM Olds cloth and vinyl. SMS said theyre running two weeks behind. Hopefully the upholstery shop will be able to get everything done as soon as I get the material.

After I get the side panels and floor sprayed I'll post some more photos. at least Im making some progress !!

Looks good Mitch, hope it all works out for you.

Been busy out there today. Everything is now Presedio Grey except for the four door panels. Pulled the side panels and cargo floor out this morning, sprayed them, and put them back in. Done. Im happy with the new color. The only issue I found is the guy that installed the side glass used too much sealer and the plastic trim doesnt quite fit the way it should. Im pissed but looking at the way the sealer is, its going to be a pain in the butt job trying to trim it back since its behind a piece of metal. I really dont want to have the glass taken back out at this point.
Im hoping to have the four door panels finished in a few days. I need to pop the right side off again. LOL

Man that looks sharp. I like the rallies a lot better on yours than what I had on mine.
Do you know what the 3 holes across the back of your floor are for?
Mine has the same holes. I thought some one just drilled them?
Also is there supposed to be vinyl glued to the floor behind the back seat? tucked under the floor bolts.
