Got her starting up good now!New battery helped but was still actin funny, I reused my old pcv valve from the 305 and it was in rough shape but still rattled when I shook it so I thought it was good. Turns out, it wasn't as soon as I replaced it, it now starts right up. 8) Still needs a good tune but starting it up was more of a concern. Timing is 36 all in at about 2600 and base is 14. From idle in park to idle in drive its going from 1000rpms to a little over 500rpms and begins running a little rough and stumbling. Is that big of a drop normal or how would I go about adjusting it on a 600cfm Holley? I would like it a little higher when in drive...

I Made good progress but while driving the trans felt like it did not want to shift and I had no kind of acceleration the engine revved up but i had to over rev to get it to move. This was a fresh rebuild but it sat for about a year. transmission fluid was full and TV cable was hooked up. Im using the stock bracket with the geometry corrector, im thinking that might something to do with it but I know its set right at max throttle the tv cable is all the way out as well. Would the Holley bracket help?

That rpm drop is a bit high. For carb a turn is go to your idle mixture screws and count how many turns it takes to lightly seat them. Remember that number incase you have to go back to that setting start at 1.25 turns out and keep going in or out half turns until you get the most vacuum. When you get close go 1/4 turns. Then when you get it to most vacuum go another 1/4 turn out. Where is your vacuum advance hooked to? I typically dont run vacuum advance but if I do it is usually manifold vacuum bottom of carb. Check it with vacuum off then hook it up turn idle down. About the rpm drop what cam are you running exactly and what stall did you put in. Sounds like you converter could be a little to tight.

So far i have maxed out at 15 inches of vacuum and thats at 1.25 turns out. My timing is 12 base 36 total and I adjusted for vacuum with advance disconnected. After connecting the advance direct to manifold it idles as in the video...1000rpms in park and a little above 500 in drive.. Any lower at park and it will start running bad and stumble when in drive.

Im running Comp Cams 270H, the stall is stock, I'm planning on going to 2400-2800 range soon but would running the stock stall for now really make the trans act up. I have 3.73's in the rear and if I tried to take off like i would really have to bring the rpms up to get it to move fast enough. Almost like a trans acts when it has no fluid in it.

I'm just going with the blazer dual piston calipers and 11inch rotor...Thanks to LSCustoms and Elco Warren for making this mod less intimidating to tackle, although I'm not going to the extreme like they are! but man I had to beat the living Sh*t out of one of the rotors to knock it off the hub and word to the wise bring a ball joint seperator!! No matter how hard i hit the control arms they didnt budge from the spindle I got lucky and found someone that had one they let me borrow

Thanks man..they had one more 2 more sets at the primo lot at pick your part in wilmington if your interested the way im doing it just bolts right in, its the cheapest upgrade

Ya i am, thats what im looking for..stright bolt on..text me what u got them for..maybe president day half off?
 
sweet! and glad ya went and took them out yourself, cause as much as I like to make a little money, I dont like to charge friends... anyhow, make sure the hubs are good to go and you are on your way bro!
