Re: My 86 442: update 8-18-11

Hey guys, been away from the site for a while, just a little update on the car.

I finished the rear wing and its now on the car, makes the car look quite a bit better imo. About a week ago I scored a set of #5 heads from a local junk yard that I plan on having built up and installing over the winter months. And to go with the heads I also picked up a set of M/T valve covers. Also I've decided enough of the green engine and such, gonna paint it up with the traditional Olds gold, and the valve covers black and gold.

Anyways heres some pics:

Re: My 86 442: update 8-18-11

Thanks guys, I'm looking for someone local that knows about olds motors that could do the work on my heads. The couple of shops that I know of around here primarily build chevy motors. I
Just want someone who knows these motors to do the work. If anyone has any suggestions that would be cool. I'm just outside buffalo, ny.

*Edit lol yes it's the same car 83cutlass350

Thanks digimurda!

rptw32: I think I am going to go with Bill over at BTR for the heads. I have been considering going with him from the start. I do want these heads done right and I feel like it would be worth spending the money with him... He's not going to steer me in the wrong direction for my application.

Has anyone on here ever had work done by BTR?

Re: My 86 442: update 10-5-11

Hey guys just a little update on the 442 as of today. I took a ride to Rochester, NY to pick up my heads from BTR that Bill Trovato worked for me. They came out awesome, and he did a great job on them. Plan is to do the install this weekend.

Heres what was done:

#5 Heads
Baked/blasted
W31 1.995 intake/1.624 exhaust valves installed
bowl blend porting
solid bronze guides
serdi valve job
heads cc'd and milled .038 for 10.2:1 compression (62cc chambers)
machined for 7/16 rocker studs
new springs
viton valve seals

I also picked up all of the gaskets needed, and one of his alternator brackets for Olds motors.
