Thanks guys! Next to come is a GN sending unit/pump setup to replace the inline pump setup, and a pypes exhaust that exits out of the stock locations. Anyone running hedmans with the ball and socket collectors with this exhaust?

Idk if my setup is wrong or what but I have the hedmans and they interfere with the mini starter from summit, my engine is a 403 and others said theres fit with no such issues.

I have the hedmans with a normal starter and I can actually get the header in and out without removing the starter. I have tons of room. Maybe its due to the fact they are production pieces? What I am worried about is how my passenger header kinda points toward the rocker. Will the ball flange make up for this, or should I be prepared to make a pipe to connect the exhaust?

Re: My 86 442: update 4/28/2013

Been a while since I've updated this.

Done a few things to the 442 over the winter months.
* Installed a custom built 2800 stall converter from Competition Transmission In North Tonawanda, Ny.
* Finished up a few things in the interior.
* Installed fiberoptics on the front fenders, since my car had them factory.
* Changed the exhaust to exit in the factory location behind the wheels.
* Changed to a 750 Holley vacuum secondary carb.
* New intermediate steering shaft installed.
* Installed a factory non A/C heater setup with all factory controlsand ducts. Just need a top plate and dash trim to finish it off.

Test fitting fiber optics before painting them:

Replacing foam on flapper doors before installation in car:

Installed in car just waiting to be hooked up:

More pics to come as I have the car outside more!

Re: My 86 442: update 4/28/2013

A couple pics of the controls inside the car.

Also, I briefly tested it out today and everything works as it should. I'm glad I replaced all the foam on the doors, they seal very well. Now I just need a top screen, and wiring to go from the single brown wire under the dash, to the heater controls, then to the plug on the box. If anyone has any pieces of that let me know please!

Re: My 86 442: update 4/30/2013

Whats up with the LT/RT Vent knobs under the steering column? where did it come from and what vents do the knobs control? im curiously interested. This appears to be a mod not often done and/or seen.

thanks

Do you have the measurements for the fiber optics that you're willing to share? I have a set I need to install.

Yes, it is for heater ony cars. The cables control fresh air from the outside of the car through the vents on the dash.
