Please pm me some pics of the SS font you got done when finished! DEFINITELY swoop them scooters if you get the bid!!! I just scored a mint 75 suzuki ts185 for 300.00 bucks!!!

The guy with the bikes did not take my offer so looks like ElCamino thrash is a GO. Got a parts list for OPG that includes clips, seals, etc. I have a good game plan on chemical stripping without getting the jambs. Going to use a couple layers of 3/4 masking tape at all body panel edges and back tape with 2" tape. Will chemical strip to the edge of the tape. After cleaning, remove tape and DA sand to metal where the tape was. This way I won't get any drippage behind into the jamb areas. I will replace the door hinge pins and bushings on both doors and realign the doors and fenders better. Not going for the perfect straight show car finish but a really nice quality one. I picked out two colors of red mettalics that match close to whats on it now from O'Reilleys NASON base coat line. Should be a good price. I've used NASON for several years and like it. This is basically going to be a $1000 eleven day makeover

Kinda got carried away with a parts order. Was planning on shaving the hood ornament but to save time I just bought a reproduction one. Also got the bed rail corner pieces. I had new tail light assemblies on the order but they are back ordered. I called Dixie Monte back yesterday about the seat cover deal and he told me he has not got an email back from them yet. No call from them today either. Guess I need to find another vendor.

To quote Jean-Luc Picard - Engage!!!

I have a similar lament. Now that my coupe is back on four tires again, the sun-beaten lacquer is starting to bother me. I had grand ideas about repainting it Guardsman red and converting all the interior to black. Now I think I might just repaint the gold/light camel on the outside only so I can get started putting the interior back together. I have a decent black dash panel in the shed, hope it has survived in its coffin all these years...

I think I'm going to swap out the header panel to the 4 headlight set up. I got one for free from my cousin and the brand new grille and headlight bezels are very affordable. I don't like the side markers so I'm glad I have the older fenders

Just ordered a set of Lloyd mats velourtex floor mats for the ElCamino. Got the custom embroidered ElCamino SS logo. I had ordered a set last year for my 55 and the quality is very nice. Will be a nice detail to an otherwise boring part.

I've been trying to figure out what to do about my front and rear bumpers. They are straight but the chrome is dull and hazy with some scratches. These would be horrible to put back on after new paint. Think I'll paint them body color and section the ends to get tighter to the body. Mine have rubber impact strips and both are damaged. I found some black universal stick on body side moldings that look similar to the impact strips. I think I'll use this after cutting off the bolt heads and flush welding them in the bumpers for the reinforcements to bolt back on. This way I don't have to weld up the million holes for the impact strips.

Trying to get everything coming so it SHOULD be here in time for assembly. My predicament is swapping to the 4 headlight front end is going to cost another $350. That's new grille, headlight bezels, H4 headlights, and turn signal assemblies. I will get another paycheck before the 11 day thrash so that will get my base coats and stripper. I have clear already. I have already blown my budget but my wife wants me to go full steam ahead. I just hope the weather outlook is nice for the thrash
