Serpentine setup may be long waterpump setup for 69 and up pumps.
It is. I did a little research after I posted. The polished pump does not have the holes it should. I have another pump at my mother's house. My dad told me I was supposed to of used that pump not the polished one. It is a higher flow. I will have to stop by there this week and get it.

I've been following your post and happy that you have part of your father to keep and constantly remind you. I'd like to through my 2 cents at installing Caltracs. I went with the split mono and sliders in the rear and never had a problem hooking at any track I go to.

Such a beautiful chassis covered up by a plain white rapper. There needs to be some changes made to the rear of the car. Tire fitment is very limited, but for now I am focused on getting it on the road and somewhat reliable. Thanks for the recommendations. Anything else you guys see let me know. I will keep it in mind for future upgrades.

I had an Edelbrock Victor pump on my chevelle. I ran 9.30's with that pump and never had an issue turning it to 7600 on mine.

It has been a busy past to weekends working on the car. So I found out that I needed a long nose water pump to go with the new brackets. So I bought a new pump. I masked up the front of the engine and did a little painting.

Then I mounted the new belt drive system. That is when the snow ball rolled down hill. I researched for a couple hours trying to find electric fans that would clear the new water pump and pullies. I even took the fans off the Monte to test fit. I ended up going to my mom's house and scrounged around. I found a 12 inch fan and some sheet metal. So I built my own.

I robbed a 10 inch fan from the previous setup. So it has a 10 inch fan and a 12 inch fan. I don't think it turned out too bad? Last week I made up a fan drive board and wired everything thing up.

I made it so I can hide it in the fender.

I ran the car to get the coolant level back to normal level. After running the car for half hour I found the fuel gauge is still loosing pressure, even after I changed the seliniod to a relay. I did a little research on the pump. It is Berry Grant 280 pump. You can only run it with out a return fuel line for short periods. (Drag race only) I found out there is a speed shop 10 miles from my house on Friday. They are also open to 4:30 on Saturdays. I had to watch my kids till 2 and then I could leave. I went to Story City to the speed shop. It is mostly for stock car stuff, but they have a lot of inventory. They didn't have a return pressure regulator for a carb on hand. Well shoot. So I ended up buying a smaller fuel pump that can be dead headed, but not really recommended. I bought a pump, an fittings, hose, and a filter for 130 bucks. I got a little side tracked on the way home and did not get to work until 8:30. I worked to 11 before I quit. This morning I got up and got to work at 8. Got the car running. Had to fix a couple fuel leaks and finish a few loose ends. I washed and cleaned the car all up and made the car show at 11:30.

This show was only five miles from my house, so it was a good maiden voyage. The wife and kids showed up and so did Grandma.

It was a good time.

So now how it drove. Awesome, except for a few glitches. I think I have a 5000 stall converter in the transmission not a 3500 stall like I thought. I have 3:70 gears now. It was running 6000 rpm at 60 mph. There was not much difference in witch gear I was in 2nd or third. Seems like it slips until you hit 5000 rpm and then grabs and goes. I am not sure how many rpm I should be turning at 60 mph. Some were around 3000 I figure. Sound about right what is going on? It is a 400 turbo transmission with a manual valve body. What recommendations do you guys have for a new converter? So on the way home I kept my foot into it. Only logical thing to do right? Once I got home the coolant temp was creeping up there. 210° I am not sure if the fan setup is going to work or it was running hot because of the RPMs? I also found the fuel pressure gauge was reading too low again. So I will be adding a fuel return to the system soon.

Love this car!

No recommendations on convertor but it has to be generating a bunch of heat running around like that.

Yeah, don't risk boiling the transmission fluid. There are lots of great TH400 converters out there these days. Call a few companies and see what they recommend. I'd guess you're going to end up with a tight 4000 (flash) stall unit.
