Did this engine get finished yet? I'm curious to see how it performed. I finished my 565 last season and made a few runs at the end of the year.
No I haven't finished assembling it yet, too busy working and also trying to get stuff done on my Regal project.
Probably start on it again in the spring.

I know the feeling. Mine took 2 seasons to do. I used some of the stuff from when it was a 548 too. I changed the rotating assembly and the cam, had the lifters rebuilt and that was it. It made 910 hp as a 548 and 978 as a 565. The car went from 9.03 to a so far best of 8.87.

Can you post the specs for your engine?

Sure my engine is no secret. It's a 4.6 bore Merlin II block with main studs. Scat crank, eagle 6.535 rods, JE gas ported shelf Pistons about 15:1 compression. It's a .043/.043/3mm ring pack from JE. The oil pan is a moroso 21049 with the 22187? pump. It's the one with the baffle on it. The heads are Dart 355 heads with 2.35/1.88 valves. They flow 426 at .800 if I remember. The cam is .814/.798 282/[email protected]. It's got a super victor and a Dale Cubic 1150. It has jesel sportsman rockers, regular .842 morel roller lifters, ati balancer, 2 1/4 headers, and that's about it. Pretty much all out of the summit catalog except the cam. It doesn't have a crank trigger, or a vacuum pump, and the timing isn't locked out. Runs on Sunoco maximal or vp x16 fuel.

I went a little milder on my set up to help it live on the street but it sounds like a pretty comparable set up but you have more compression and cam and less drag with your ring pack.
