Do you have any pictures of it? Might use your method for mineI made my 80e crossmember from a piece of 1x3 channel. V cut it with a sawzall, stand on it till the angle looks close, weld it, use the scrap piece from the closed angles to fill in the open ones. Ugly as a mud fence but pretty stout and it took all of 45 minutes.
That junk is too ugly for pictures!!!Do you have any pictures of it? Might use your method for mine
Mine was $2200 but that was everything I needed to have a ready to go rear end. Installation was fairly simple. Had a friend help me and I would suggest the same unless you have a lift and a rear end Jack. A little massaging was required to get my old worn out control arms and bushings to play nice with the new rear. But we got it. It actually went much smoother than I thought.Love what you are doing, I am starting out on the same track with my 81 cutlass s., Tell me about your rear end, like what it cost and ease of installation? Are you going with bigger wheels? I will be watching your progress, good luck.
Turbolq4, have you seen my build yet? You think I care about it being pretty? HahahaThat junk is too ugly for pictures!!!
I'll see if I can crawl under it and take a pic sometime today.
