That's a good show but this end of Nassau/Queens usually goes to the Bellmore train station show.
yeah, i hear ya on that. the other week they had the flowerfield car show in saint james which is usually nice but i guess i came too late and missed anything cool. i didnt see any oldsmobiles... 🙁

Jack,
Yeah i cant wait to get in the water, gotta have it ready by memorial day, just need to pull the outdrive (again :? )
change a cable, unwinterize and clean it up. It sounds bitchin through the hull w/no mufflers.
Steelies are 15x7 4 1/4 bs I use spacer/adapters in the rear 255/60/15 and the fronts rub on the inside w/ 235/60/15
need to find some good spacers and change studs.
I bought them new from Atlantic wheel in Deer Park,NY they were $60ea in '06
Plans for the wagon IDK been driving it to work occasionally (better on gas than my suburban) got lotsa things to fix on it done so far-
-ss prebent brake lines and russell braided lines
- new brakes
- heater core
- changed windshield and cleaned up rusty opening and resealed
- rear seal on transmission ( still leaks from elsewhere)
- fixed cracked ac box (oops) and cleaned up cowl and resealed.
- changed valve covers
- ripped out nasty carpet and headliner etc etc...
Things to do-
Engine, transmission, Suspension, Interior, Paint etc

For now gonna rebuild the 2 barrel and make it it run as good as i can for now see what kinda mpg It can get and make it more driveable. and fix leaky exhaust (cough cough) gotta drive with the windows open.
Dont have a lotta $$ to throw at it now so ive been just tinkering around with it at night in the garage.
- Gonna lay some flat black on it for now.Going for the ratrod look.
The green paint looks much crappier in person
- It needs shocks and gonna cut a coil in the front give it a better stance.
- Also taking the crash course in welding to fix all the rusty hole metal work it needs.
- Gonna pull the nose and look at the big block in there next fall/winter

Snotrocket,
(nice handle btw) Ive never been to the bald hill shows but ive heard about them.
I go down to captree its 5 min from me early on nice Sundays theres lotsa cars down there.
Not really a formal show just buncha car and bike people hanging out b.s.ing

Regal Begal,
That Buick's gotta roast those tires big time w/ that 455.
Yeah the green wouldn't look bad if the paint was in better shape.

85MontanezSS,
Do ya ever go down to captree on Sundays?

To everyone else thank you for the warm welcome.. 😀 😀

Thanks Dave,
I hope you get the boat ready for Memorial Day weekend. Man I'd love to have another boat, but a small runabout with an outboard on it. The wife and I went to an antique boat show south of here and I freaked out at all the beautiful old wooden boats. There was even one of Guy Lombardo's old hydroplanes Tempo V there. I know he raced in Jamaica Bay back in late '40's.
I know I should concentrate on getting my car back in shape rather than dream about a cool vintage boat with a period correct outboard on back of it.
I would like to find a set of steelies like yours and a set of dog dish Nova caps. Not too long ago on Craigslist, a guy was selling a used set with caps for like $400. I suppose he was negotiable on the price. That seemed alittle high for a used set of steel rims and hub caps. I had rally's on it with police caps. All the rims were wobbly so I got rid of 'em.
I'm sure you'll make progress on your wagon soon enough. Who offers the welding course, BOCES?
I wouldn't mind getting some pointers myself at the local community college.

welcome to the forum ! good to see another LI guy

79wagonator do you fish? Guys on Noreast.com are seeing a lot of Bass and even some Fluke and a cocktail Blue already. My skiff is almost ready to hit the water, needs bottom paint. When you are at Captree, my buddy Chris has the black 77' TA Smokey style, and my daughter has the 95' black Formula.

Havent fished in a long time 🙁 Gonna go for some fluke off the boat this year. Not really set up for fishing Its more like a speed boat. But I have some ss rod holders Im gonna cut into the gunnels. I keep it on the trailer the ramp's close to my house. No bottom paint to slow me down 8) I'll keep an eye out for the T/A and the Formula.

Hey Jack,
If your into small runabouts you should checkout this site http://www.bateau.com/
You could build your own… while not the traditional wood plank boat they’re easy to build. Even a caveman can do it!! I bought plans for the FL11 (it’s the FL12 now) years ago and never got around to building it  To many interests not enough time.. 🙁
A vintage outboard you can keep it…unless it was kept indoors and fresh water.
I had a 66 15ft Crownline runabout w/ a 68 65hp Evinrude. It was big, loud, not enviro friendly, and a b*tch to get parts..
I got a lotta comments though. Ill post a pic in the off topic section. Never got stuck with it, had lotsa heli coils.
It sat for a while and I couldnt get it running again and didnt feel like throwing more $$ at it..
The steelies I bought brand new from Atlantic wheel in Deer Park ny
They were only 60ea but that was back in 05-06. The caps I guess you’d have to search for.
I think someone remakes them Idk? …..

Welding ...Im just gonna borrow my brothers mig or buy myself a nicer 220v one and practice.. Order a dvd, book or something..
