Another milestone reached today. Concrete was poured for the entry pads by all of the doors and the patio under the deck. That was the last thing for the builder to finish.

Also we had gutters installed on the mudroom, garage by the mudroom, and over the deck and back porch area.

Any updates for the fishing rod storage room?

Well, kind of... The neighbor that is building the built-ins for us came over and laid it out on the wall, grabbed six sheets of 3/4" veneered plywood out of the ten that I bought and is supposed to be building the first two of the three now. We're supposed to be exchanging work to cover the costs. I've done about 1k worth of work and parts for them in the last two years, now I'm waiting on him to do his part. Time will tell if this was a mistake or not.

Kinda of hard to see, but if you zoom in you can make out some of the lines drawn on the wall for the outline of the three built-ins.

This one makes me jealous. When they did this portion of my house they poured 3 large footers under the pillars, then poured a slab and cut joints in it to make it 6 sections. Then they set pillars directly on the 3 slab sections closest to the yard. Now that everything has settled a bit, those sections have heaved a bit and the deck has dropped a little on the end. Most people wouldn't notice it but it drives me crazy. If it had been done like yours, I could jack up the pillars and the concrete would be totally unaffected.

All those finishing touches look great. No more mud splatter!

Funny because I was looking at the patio pad last night and complaining he didn't out any expansion joints in it. So it's one large piece. It's 3" thick but I'm sure at some point it's going to break :/ It wouldn't have if there were control joints. Too late now though. I hate the look of it when they are cut in afterwards.

I'd cut it if it were mine. Rather see the uniform lines than a bunch of cracks later. My shop floor was a single pour, then they came back and cut joints a few days later. Looks fine. Because my house was built on soil that I expected to move a little, I opted for stamped concrete for the patio, sidewalk to the front door, and border around the driveway. Makes any inevitable cracks less noticeable.
