Steve I thought it was a good price.
When I bought my last Kenwood,I got it from a local stereo shop.I wanted an Excelon at that time, but he said that only authorized Kenwood dealer carried them,so I ended up with the one that I got.
Now I'm getting what I want !!!
Guy

you got a good deal and you'll be happy with it..... 🙂

If it were me I would have already installed it, since they are both Kenwood's it is a good chance this is just a plug and play

nice.. i have to buy two radios.. need one for our 70 dart and one for the cutlass.. i need the bluetooth that i see this kenwood has... everytime i get in the car i'm like damn i need a radio. then when shopping i find other stuff to buy for the car and the radio has to wait..lol

Yeah,just call me chicken,LOL 🐔
It's something that I would rather leave to an expert.
And Andy is the best in our area and is happy to help a fellow car guy out.

The CD receivers are getting hard to find. I bought two Pioneer's just before they came out with the AUX port. It died this year so I didn't go skipping CD, would rather have Cassette over that. I have an almost new shitty sounding one on the shelf. I have a $30 FM AUX 50×3 Ebay stereo in the 88 and a $35 Boss Audio AM/FM AUX 50x4 stereo. My only complaint is the Boss has shitty radio reception. I have 4 Boss speakers, two 3.5" and two 4x10's in the 88. I have a 4", 4x10" Boss up front a 5" Pioneer under the driver's seat, two old Alpine 6x9's in boxes along with Walmart off brand home sub box. I can't believe how well this cheap stuff sounds. A good stereo massively improves cruising, enjoy.

You got that right !!
When I first bought the Monte a previous had installed a killer system. There had been tweeters in the doors and amps in the trunk, all top end speakers, etc. But they took all that stuff out and left a cheap receiver in the dash with no speakers.
I wasnt long getting front and rear speakers installed, and have progressively gotten a better stereo as the old ones wear out.
Gotta have tunes 👍

I'm glad that I didnt attempt to do this myself.
The harness's were different and it wasnt exactly plug and play.
What would have taken me a lot of cussing and frustration and time, took Andy a couple of minutes.
So far I've spent about 1/2 an hour or so playing with the settings.I chose the manual EQ settings, sound effects, the Digital Time Alignment settings and I have the display settings set.
The EQ settings will likely need some more dialing in,but it sounds pretty good for now !!

I am sure you would have figured it out and it would have been one more thing that you would have felt confident in tackling in the future should the need arise.

How are the controls on the Kenwood's? I had an Alpine and JVC in cars past, and several Sony's. There's a very Uber complicated Sony in my elcamino that came in the car and it's very annoying how complex it is (I didn't like any of the Sony ones). It has like literally dozens of EQ adjustments on like 7 bands all accessed by tapping and turning the volume knob which is super sensitive. The car came with it, a Polk amp, two kicker 6x9's and a 10 inch kicker sub. The sub and amp were fried, literally burned up I don't know what happened. I put a new sub in the box and got a new amp, it doesn't sound bad but I find the headunit really annoying.

Also bought a pair of Skar tx35's for the dash but there's no way they're going to fit unless maybe I pull the dash and install them then put the dash back in.

you can use your cell to set up the audio, it's easier then setting it up with the radio controls.
