How are the controls on the Kenwood's? I had an Alpine and JVC in cars past, and several Sony's. There's a very Uber complicated Sony in my elcamino that came in the car and it's very annoying how complex it is (I didn't like any of the Sony ones). It has like literally dozens of EQ adjustments on like 7 bands all accessed by tapping and turning the volume knob which is super sensitive. The car came with it, a Polk amp, two kicker 6x9's and a 10 inch kicker sub. The sub and amp were fried, literally burned up I don't know what happened. I put a new sub in the box and got a new amp, it doesn't sound bad but I find the headunit really annoying.

Also bought a pair of Skar tx35's for the dash but there's no way they're going to fit unless maybe I pull the dash and install them then put the dash back in.

This is my second Kenwood and the controls are very similar so I find it fairly easy to set up.

you can use your cell to set up the audio, it's easier then setting it up with the radio controls.

Thats good to know Steve,thanks.
I havent had much time to play with it,but I did read in the manual about using the remote app on my phone.

Guy, another thing if you want to remove some of the input selections like Pandora etc go to standby, select functions and go to system, you can hide the ones you don't need.... 🙂

I have played with the EQ and the time alignment settings a bit.
It is much easier using my iPhone than the receiver controls.
I measured the distances from the drivers position to each speaker and those are set.
I set the EQ in the CD mode, with a cd playing.
Do I need to do this for every mode that I use ??
I am going to do as Steve suggested above as we dont have some of those options.
All in all,the new system sounds great.

Interesting conversation. The Mrs' Camaro needs a new head unit.

I was also thinking of adding a mini/micro amplifier to the mix as well.

for the different inputs you should set up the EQ since they each have different parameters. The Kenwood I got didn't have the CD since the Jeep has a shallow hole for head units. I set the EQ for XM and USB and I left the phone settings alone since the default settings sounded good. I don't have any amps in the Jeep so I don't set the crossover or slopes like I do in my GP with my Alpine unit.
