Thanks Jeff. Looks like you have a really nice Monte SS!! Is it original or has the car been redone?

Thanks. It is original. Bought it new in Oct 84. Still runs and drives good. Will replace a few things like the headliner, get a couple door dings fixed, but not much more. I drive it a few times a month to make sure everything still works and does not leak.

The headliner sag seems to be an unwanted option in the gbody' haha! Nothing better than seeing a nice, basically untouched original car. They're few and far between nowadays.

It is from the weather in AZ. Thanks to the dry air and heat, rust is not a problem, but rubber hoses, weatherstripping, and glued on headliners just dry out after awhile.

When I first moved out here people would tell me how that kept cars for decades because the bodies lasted way past then and they just replaced motors, etc and would drive them hundreds of thousands of miles. Plus it is mostly highway driving here and that is a plus too. Not much stop and go driving except in the cities. Rest is wide open.

Living in the desert the roads have a bunch of rocks and pebbles that kick up so cracked windshields and paint chips are hard to avoid. That is why I am hesitant to get new paint. I like driving the car and no matter how well you paint it and take care of it, rock chips or some kind of sun damage might eventually happen. In all honesty I'd rather deal with these issues then the wet and sanded roads I dealt with every Winter when I lived back East.

Thanks so much!! What year is your Malibu?

The avatar pic is actually of a 1979 El Camino Royal Knight I owned a few years ago, I'm without a Gbody at this time.

Based on pics of your rear end I would guess you used adjustable UCA's and adjusted the pinion angle to match? I didn't bother to check mine and regrettably toasted my slip yoke 😱
You're correct. The primary adjustment came from the uppers and only slight adjustment on the lowers. I'll still have a lot of adjusting to do for the track. There's so much E.T. To be gained in the 60ft, 1/8, 1/4 etc... that can be easily overlooked.

The guys who run stock eliminator are basically splitting hairs looking for performance gains. They get the absolute max efficiency out of their suspension....because they're so limited with basically all mods.
