Taped up the taillights and resprayed the chrome outline I think they came out very nice. I used a rustoleum chrome metallic paint. I’ve used it before on similar things and haven’t had any issues with it. Lays down nice and blends in well if you need to do a touch up

Got some more parts and brackets removed and ready for cleaning. Got the manifolds and crossover pipe off the donor engine without having any bolts break off into the manifolds which is awesome as I hate drilling out broken bolts. Got the brakes bled this evening as my wife finally helped me with that. Also got the original exhaust off the car to make way for the new pypes dual exhaust system. Going to go by the machine shop tomorrow and see how we’re looking as I haven’t been by there in a couple weeks due to me being on vacation. Hoping he is about done with the engine so I can get it back and get it prepped for some corporate blue paint and start reinstalling parts. Ready to see a engine back in this engine bay. I plan on ordering the GTA wheels probably in the middle of August along with the center caps and lug nuts. Then all that will need to be ordered is the exhaust.

Got some misc parts cleaned up getting them ready for a fresh coat of paint. Still undecided if I’m going to put the smog pump back on as I’m not going to be running a cat I’m going to be using a test pipe for now. Think I’m just going to leave it off and put it in a box in case I ever decide I want to do 100% correct.

Save the pump !!!!! in a box on the shelf .................just in case.

if in future you want / need it ,good luck finding the correct one .

I’m not going to throw it away by any means anything like that i will store away for safe keeping, same for the original exhaust I’m going to store it as well

OK, it’s been 14 years now but “I think” the ECM uses that sensor for when to turn the gas fume canister suck valve loose, maybe EGR function too, and something I’m forgetting. Now if you’re punting all of that too, running non ECM mode, then sky is the limit how much you can tear off.

I’ve thought about just getting it drivable with the original 2bbl but I have a 4.1 4bbl intake that I need to pick up that I’m thinking of putting on the car and then adding a older style vacuum distributor instead of the more electronic one

I wouldn't bother at the factory 7.9:1 CR; it'll just be over-carbed at that point. Leave the 2bbl.
