I wouldn't bother at the factory 7.9:1 CR; it'll just be over-carbed at that point. Leave the 2bbl.

That’s what I would be afraid of however it supposedly had this 4bbl intake on it but I’m not sure I never saw it on the car

Awesome find I can't believe how nice that car is! As far as rare and valuable goes. I'd put a turbo on it. lol but I'll respect your decision if you don't because it's really cool eather way

As far as I'm aware the only 3.8's that got a 4bbl were the carbed turbo engines. And the only n/a buick v6 that got a 4bbl was a 4.1. But I could be wrong im by no means an expert on v6 power train options especially in a pace car. Though I will be the first to tell you that a 4bbl on a stock buick 3.8 is going to do nothing more than waste gas, I did it over 20 years ago and was sadly disappointed with the outcome.

From what I was told it was added on at some point all the replica pace cars were just the na 3.8 2bbl. The two actual pace cars that led Indy were 4.1 4bbl with some modifications

Went by the machine shop still waiting on the block to get bored. Did some eBay shopping today as I look at eBay at least once a day to see if I come across any unusual 81 Indy items and picked up this lot of posters and advertising also some Buick letters that went out to the dealers. Can’t wait to see it all in person should be here in a couple days

Didn’t get nothing done on the Indy other than use the trunk as a workbench as I worked on the Typhoon today. Of course I laid a fender mat out so we don’t hurt the patina.

Got a more period correct front plate. Don’t see to many of this style. I have another one I’m putting in my display cabinet.
