newbie just saying hi

i just registered but have been to the sight a million times. i have a 1984 Buick regal that i am currently swapping a sbc into. i also have a 1962 imapla ss with a 409 4 speed, # matching. i wanted to know if anyone has any experience with putting a new wiring harness in. i got the regal for free, some guy started a stock car project and ripped the motor out and cut every wire. any advice what to do? thanks

The easy route would be to go to a junkyard and find a complete Regal with an uncut harness and use that. DIY wiring is much harder and will take weeks to do if it is your first time. Plus, should you mess up and don't allow for vibration or wire it wrong or don't fuse it properly, you are almost guaranteed a fire. My Cutlass has harness sections from 4 different G bodies and it was the easiest way to do it.
