If I wanted to convert my car to a non electric manual choke carb (assuming I could find one) from the current thermostatic choke electric Rochester E2ME, could I just take off the old one, and connect the linkage for the new one, and just leave all the wires disconnected? Also, Would I have to change to a different distributor?

Why? Ooops, nevermind, whole carb, yeah, not a problem. Wrap the connector up, no harm done.

Your car should be running hei ignition right? If so the dist. has nothing to do with the choke and you would be safe wih the conversion. I ran with no choke for a long time till I bought an electric choke but all you technically need to do is run a cable to the choke linkage behind the thermostat housing and use the cable like a pull lever. Good luck!

if i remeber right doorman sells a kit in the HELP section.it installs in a few minutes and looks almost factory.

"convert my car to a non electric manual choke carb " I think he means the whole carb. A non CCC distributor would be needed too.
