Not Looking Good for Florida

Continuing the wishes of good luck to you Jack. Looks like a rough night and Monday in your area. Stay safe.

Thanks Pontiacgp. We are keeping powder dry and staying in touch with friends and family. Brothers who live near coast left yesterday. I used to be outside adjuster and have worked some ugly cat stuff so I know how people feel. Bad part is all the predators out there and how gullible people are. I cannot say enough to people in Florida....WATCH WHAT YOU SIGN...
These people are not looking out for you and are not your friends. Be very wary of assignment of benefits on your insurance policy and people saying they will deal with the insurance company on your behalf.
Take pics of your home, possessions and damage, if something happens try to prevent further damage. If you have to bail keep all receipts of expenditures.
Stay safe.

We are ok... lots of damage around us but nothing that resembles impending doom. Who knows how long until power is restored. My best friend who lives in a frame house where 90mph winds were recorded near the airport has power, but everybody else is OUT. Thanks for the concern guys, we praying for those on the west coast of Florida who are probably worse off. From miami to up here in palm beach i know of many people who are f'd. Both neighbors on either side lost their rearb fences. Neighbor across the street put up a fence and gated driveway a week ago just to have a 30ft tree fall on both. And my cousin down south Miami had a 40ft ficus fall on his grandmas car. We are all still blessed.

It looks like Jack's area didn't get hit as hard as they thought it would so that's good new. I imagine Jack's power is down so hopefully Jack is ok and will be back when the power is back on....

Thank you for your thoughts and well wishes, Jeff.

Thank you Steve,
I must say, it was a bit unnerving listening to those high winds blow thru while we were trying to catch some shuteye.
All things considered, we fared well. The winds have died down, but still blowing around at a good clip...and it's still raining.
We didn't lose power...thank goodness. Looking out of the windows I see there's a bit of cleanup that needs to be done...tree limbs, moss and other debris.
I guess once I go outside I can get a better assessment .

Thanks guys....I appreciate all the well wishes and concerns for our safety.

Steve, my wife was fairly calm...I was a bit of a nervous wreck not knowing what the outcome will be.

I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was for you but other places south of you look terrible. Now there is Jose to be concerned with.

Yeah, I count my lucky stars....we were fortunate compared to many.
There was a report of flooding a few blocks away from us on the main road where it crosses over a creek. Apparently, the creek overflowed and a car was stuck. The driver and passenger were on the roof of the car waiting to be rescued.
There was also reports of some structural collapses...one was an apartment complex.

There's still winds up to 50 mph reported in our area. So, being outside could still pose a danger.

Glad to hear all are safe. We have tropical storm winds now with some pretty good gusts. I haven't checked out area yet but see tree debris. Lost power this morning and have a small generator to keep freezers, computer and coffee going. Wind will start to lay down after lunch. All my family good and watching St Marks river level for brother as he lives on it. Still has 8 feet to record high and he was dry then. Keep fingers crossed.
