Ahh, bread. The last time I had bread or any wheat or wheat containing product(pizza, gravy, pasta, beer, soy sauce, salad dressing, whiskey, cookies, donuts, cakes etc) was around 4 -5 years ago. I had a major illness 10 years ago and the effects of the treatments made it very, very uncomfortable to consume any wheat or barley product because of the gluten. I really miss eating an Italian loaf, layered with butter and washing it down with a cold beer. Yup, a whole loaf of bread.

Whatever is cheapest as long as it isn't wheat.

I'm pretty partial to the "Artesano" that Hafrod was talking about, and it's made by Sara Lee.... we usually have a loaf of that in the house at any given time. I'm also buy the Arnold potato bread from time to time, and we usually have a loaf of pumpernickel or rye/pumpernickel swirl in the breadbox as well...

I use to eat out at Lunch everyday, but for the last 3 months or so been making sammichs for work
I like Martins Potato Bread the best but this past Sunday i went to a large commercial bakery, where they allow you to go in the back and take fresh baked breads coming off the conveyors. They make all kinds, I bought some rolls for my sammies, man, it was good

For most of my favorites,A firm full flavored rye with seeds such as Beafsteak . Turkeys end Miracle Whip, ham egg and cheese, liverwurst, toast 2 pieces BUTTER 1 then peanut butter on the other. Now I'm hungry!

I've always liked white bread, but the doc says its not good for me. I've tried to get away from it, and I've been eating "Dave's Killer Bread", the 21 Grains and Seeds variety. It's great for a lunch meat or tuna salad sandwich, but I still can't bring myself to eat a hamburger or hot dog off of it. Here in Pittsburgh people make a big deal out of Mancini's Italian Bread. Personally I've always thought it was kinda lousy.
Guess I will have to try this "Dave's Killer Bread", I usually try to switch it up each week. I do like the sourdough a lot but not much of a choice of it at the Shop N Save I go to. Growing up I couldn't get enough of the D'Italiano bread because of how soft it was. Now to the major problem, Mancini's is the best hoagie roll ever:wax:. Gets no better than going to Peppi's for their regular Italian with oil and mayo on it. Now if you are talking about their bread itself I won't comment because I've only had it as toast which anything toasted with butter is pretty tasty to me.

I love me a good sammich n some soup for lunch 🙂

Growing up I loved Skippy PB on 3 slices of Wonder Bread. It would glue your damn mouth shut !! And now I cant stand it
I figure "white" bread is OK for sunday toast or in a pinch. But some kind of Seeded Multigrain is all I eat now and switch it up every week. I like that there are no preservatives and the fibre added to my diet is adequate without having to add some kind of suppliment.

Manischewitz rye is my go to, if not Italian. I'm a Philly guy nothing beats the fresh locals like Amoroso or Aversa rolls.
