yea i was thinking like a pontiac 400 but why do that when i have a 350 laying around and i love chevys and pontiacs so why not have a little of both lol

I agree. To me it ain't really as bad as alot of people try to make it out to be. The General makes them all and most of the aftermarket parts out there are actually for a Chevy but fit all G's. Right?

Ok, I'll weigh in here. Chevy engines use a special mounting flange not shared by the other divisions for the transmission. Therefore, unless you have one of the few transmissions that are dual pattern, you will need another. Also, the starter, power steering pump, A/C brackets and alternator brackets are different, and you need a passenger's side fuel line if you don't have that already. These are generalities, the specifics will depend on what Chevy engine you have and what year it is, plus what transmission you have. GM cars have lots of interchange, but not everything is universal. Each engine family is distinct and uses distinct mounts and peripherals.

well the motor is a 350 from a 86-87 chevy truck and the transmission in the car is a pontiac universal 350 i thought it might be better to put the chevy motor in but if i have to do all that i dont know now lol

As far as the fuel line, you can use the driver side line with some modification to make it run to the passenger side. We ran my buddy's along the crossmember and it's fine. As far as the starter and accessory's, a sbc starter is like $35-$50 anywhere and all the accessorys are avail on any small block chevy at any junkyard for pretty inexpensive. Still not a big deal.
