Cold at idle? That's not bad... neither high or low. My cars are much higher cold at idle.

I am still wondering why the bearings needed to be touched. The more we do the wider the margin for error grows.
Sounded like a rod knock but who knows especially with good oil pressure 🤔

I shimmed the pump, from watching your 4.8 build. I'm like 35 psi hot and 80psi @ 6k too, right about perfect.

What bearing are you referring to? Bottom end when i put the motor together?

Then you are good. Every engine is a bit different.

Yeah, did the factory bearings look off?

It had a bad crank bearing, it was a warranty take out. I replaced rods and mains, rings, head and main studs. Everything was plasti-gauged and on the tight end of OEM spec.

If I don't find an lifter issue I think its going to come out for an inspection. I need to be sure or my OCD is going to explode. Either way the trans needs to come out for Jakes D1 installation, and I have all winter to get it right this time, actually check all the things and record stuff so I will stop second guessing myself.
