Ok.... time for the post weekend thrash update.
Started off Saturday with this. Stuff that bad boy in there.
Everything took a little extra time that I expected, turns out swapping motor mount location with suspension in is harder that the first time I did it. Then i discovered that i had to drop the bumper and header panel to get the motor even CLOSE to the mounts.
Not too shabby, the whole process up until today had a few struggles And setbacks. discovered that I was not prepared to mount the second pump in the fuel tank, need a mount for the bottom of the hanger and i didnt want to waste more time than i did messing with it but the Regal efi tank fell right into the Cutlass. No mods necessary at all.
Today I got the diff yoke swapped, fought with that a bit, refilled the diff with royal purple 75W90, should be good. Driveline is finished, so I mounted a trans cooler on the Rad. I think when I eventually get a new rad I'll use both I didnt want to mount a cooler back under the car because I want a dump on the exhaust this time. Because sleeper....
I mounted the hood, and I'm having a issue with the spring arms contacting the fender mount. I think it's missing a spacer, there is only one washer between the mount bolt and the fender, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
But I carried on, mounted the ecu on the heater delete plate, ran wires, plumbed the turbo, plumber the rad and trans cooler lines, and put the front end back together, kinda... needs some adjustments to alignment or Injectedcutty may not answer my olds questions anymore.
I changed my fuel regulator location and tidied up the intercooler line to the intake. No more 4" chunk. Need to pick a BOV spot, thinking on the right on the elbow that comes through the rad support. Should be out of the way there.
But it's almost there.
Hood alignment sucks, header alignment sucks. I'll tweak that later.
So as of right now I need to finish ECU wiring, dash install and wiring, fuse/relay panel install, fuel pump relay, mount engine fan, fill transmission, finish mounting exhaust, fill fuel, mount a mechanical trans temp gauge and its fire up time.
Its already insured, just need to get her tagged and its go time.
Hopefully the next update will have an idle clip and walk around. 😃
